The Gram Band project is getting ready for the next phase-Mixing! Busy summer and fall working with many bands around Nashville and recording projects for Azalea Productions. Hopefully after the first of the year we'll have a new website design.

Wow this year is hauling! I hope all of you that stopped by are having a good year so far. I've decided since I don't have a Myspace (anymore), a Facebook (never have), a Twitter (chances are never will), I would try to add a little bit of personal stuff to this website. However it has to pertain to music in someway!
I've been playing a lot of gigs around town with various singers and bands. Check out the links page to see them.
The project that currently has me excited is The Gram Band. Almost two years ago my friend Chris James approached me about playing a few Gram Parsons tribute shows around town. Knowing that I am a fan of Gram's music and what now is known as Country Rock/Americana he thought I'd be a good fit. The shows were fun and were received well. Long story short Chris decided to put together a recording project based on Gram's music. If all goes right with my Zoom Q3 Recorder I'll post some snippets of the recording session on Youtube. Back to the recording session. After a couple of false starts over the past year and a half we finally headed into the studio a few months ago. We have eight rhythm tracks completed so far and a few more to go before we get into the vocals and instrument overdubs. I'll keep you posted I think this is going to turn out really cool!
Speaking of cool, a CD that I worked on last year at Azalea Studios just came out. David Petrelli "The Petrelli Project". If you are looking for some new music and artists to discover check him out. Great voice and piano based pop music.

I have two new Careless Sherman songs I want to record and eventually put up on Itunes along with the two that are currently available only on the website. That will come after the Gram Band project is complete.

Ok and finally I'll do the old "What I'm Listening To" thing only I'm going to expand it to include concerts I've seen, what I'm downloading (yes legally), Youtubing as I call it (yes anything the lawyers haven't removed), etc. First- Tom Jones Live at The Ryman Auditorium. Great show and yes he still sings his ass off! Got out my old LP's Jeff Beck Live with the Jan Hammer Group and Al DiMeola with Jan Hammer Tour De Force Live. Downloaded some Paul Thorn,Buck Owens,Ben Harper,Steve Forbert,Michael Nesmith,Leo Sayer,Pilot,Andrew Gold,Albert Collins,Tommy James,Gary Allan,The Flaming Caucasians,Montgomery Gentry,The Coasters,James Taylor,Maroon 5 and speaking of Gram Parsons while I was typing this I was listening to The Flying Burrito Brothers singing their version of Do Right Woman Do Right Man. As much as Nashville can grind you down as a musician and at some point it probably will, I still love music. Hope you do too. Thanks for stopping by! Brian.
